Our small team of servers and acolytes does a wonderful job of serving at the 8.00 and the 10.00 services, and at occasional services too.
However, we are urgently in need of additional volunteers to bolster the team. Maybe you feel you don't have the time, maybe you're already committed to other rotas, but with a full team, you would only be required to serve/acolyte once a month - or even less.
So whether you are young or not so young, whether you've been a server in the past or are completely new to it, please consider helping with this important and enjoyable aspect of our worship.
Thanks in advance,
Crowthorne Good Neighbours was established in 1972 by Churches Together in Crowthorne to help transport local elderly and infirm people to hospital and GP appointments. In addition, we also take people shopping and to visit relatives who are in care homes. There is no charge for the service although most people pay a donation to help cover the cost of the trip.
Crowthorne Good Neighbours operates out of Crowthorne Baptist Church every Monday to Friday between 10am and 12 noon, and can be contacted on 01344 761001.
New volunteer drivers are desperately needed to help with this vital work. As a volunteer driver, you can:
- volunteer a small amount of your time (just tell us your preferences)
- claim a mileage allowance
- decide where you want to go - local trips are just as important as those further afield.
Last year we took 160 people to 1207 appointments. These journeys were only possible because we have a group of volunteers willing to give up some of their time. Please consider if you may be able to give up some of your time to help a much-needed service. For more information call 01344 761001
A little reminder from Julie and Les that House Group meets on alternate Monday evenings at 7.30 pm in Oak Lodge, Dukes Ride, Crowthorne RG45 6SL. Our current topic is on the Holy Spirit using ‘On the Holy Spirit’ by Douglas Connelly (Lifebuilder study from Scripture Union).
Dates for the rest of 2017 are below (there are no September meetings due to the Autumn course and holidays).
