A huge THANK YOU to everyone for the support you gave to The Children’s Society last month. The total donations received was an amazing £336, much of which was given at the Open Garden event. This amount exceeded all my expectations and I am grateful to everyone for their incredible generosity.
Our speaker Janet Rogers has also sent her own message of thanks:
“I would like to thank you for the warm welcome I received on Sunday May 7th, whilst representing The Children's Society! Tracy’s display further highlighted the important issues I raised and I am delighted to learn that 6 new box holders have signed up to support The Children's Society. It was also good to see so many people supporting the Open Garden event so generously.
Thank you too for St John’s committed support as a Church over many years for The Children's Society. It is a painful fact that many children and young people today are vulnerable and at risk of exploitation or harm; many alone and in silence. Your prayers and financial support will help The Children's Society to stand with these young people: to protect them, help them grow, and listen when things go wrong.
Finally, I need to clear up any unintentional misunderstanding I may have created around the number of Children living in Poverty in Bracknell Forest area. In December 2013 this was 15.8% or 4,386 children and young people. That's about 1 in 6 children, whilst the TOTAL number of children in Bracknell Forest numbers 27,823.”
